2006 Engineering & Technology Career Fair
Directions
NOTE: These driving guidelines will take you DIRECTLY to the drop-off area for your materials and to the location of the Engineering & Technology Career Fair. From that location, you will be provided with driving directions to the nearest available parking lot. A shuttle bus will transport you to the Engineering & Technology Career Fair in Costello Gym. If you require a handicapped parking space, please notify us in advance so that we can make appropriate accommodations. Costello Gym is handicapped accessible from the materials drop-off area.
From Route 3 (or if traveling north on Route 495):
1. From Route 495, take the Lowell Connector exit 35C. From Route 3, take the exit for 495N & the Lowell Connector.
2. Take Exit 5 North, Thorndike Street.
3. Go straight through 3 traffic lights.
4. Get in the left hand lane as soon as you are able. Travel 0.5 miles.
5. Turn left onto Fletcher Street at the traffic light that’s simply a left turn arrow.
6. Travel to the end of Fletcher Street and turn Right onto Pawtucket Street.
7. Travel 0.1 miles to the second traffic light; turn left to go across the bridge on University Avenue.
8. At the light continue traveling straight, but stay in the right-hand lane.
9. Please refer to steps 9-12 below.
If traveling south on Route 495:
1. Take exit 39, Route 133 West.
2. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp, towards Lowell/Dracut.
3. Travel approximately 4 miles.
4. Turn right at the traffic light (you’ll also want to notice the blue and red UMass Lowell directional sign) onto Routes 110 & 38 (also called Nesmith Street.)
5. Travel straight through two traffic lights, then 3/4 around the rotary to stay on Route 38.
6. Travel STRAIGHT on this road, tracking along the Merrimack River on your left. DO NOT turn right when Route 38 turns right going into New Hampshire. The road you are traveling on becomes VFW Highway.
7. To your right you’ll pass Top Donut, athletic fields, and then a large yellow brick building.
8. Turn right at the light at the end of the yellow brick building; this is University Avenue.
9. Please refer to steps 9-12 below.
If traveling on Route 93:
1. Take exit 43, Route 133 West.
2. Turn towards Lowell/Tewksbury at the end of the exit ramp.
3. Travel approximatley 5.9 miles.
4. Turn right at the traffic light (you’ll also want to notice the blue and red UMass Lowell directional sign) onto Routes 110 & 38 (also called Nesmith Street.)
5. Travel straight through two traffic lights, then 3/4 around the rotary to stay on Route 38.

STEPS 9-12 FOR ALL:
9. Pass the yellow brick building and the grey building. Turn right at the first light onto Riverside.
10. Turn right into the first driveway. It is located between Olney (a classroom building) and the UML Police station. This driveway is directly opposite Olsen Hall (another classroom building)
11. Student assistants will be standing at the electronic gate, ready to raise the gate to allow your vehicle to enter the Costello Gym parking lot. Student assistants will be at the Costello Gym entrance to help you unload your materials and deliver them to your booth.
12. Unless you require a handicapped parking space, you will be provided with directions to another parking lot on Pleasant Street in Dracut - about 1 mile from Costello Gym. A University van will transport you to and from Costello Gym.
