The Gender Pay Gap: A Closer Look at the Facts

On March 29th, from 2-4 p.m. in Moloney Hall (UCC 260) our office will lead a workshop created by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to help students learn not only what is the gender pay gap, but tactics to address this issue, minimize the gap, and set themselves up for success with negotiation tactics when starting a new position.

This event, Start Smart: Salary Negotiation, will address numerous key details regarding the history of the gender pay gap and the current economic climate of the pay gap for women and marginalized communities.

To help support the conversation around the gender pay gap we’ve provided a direct link to the most recent data from the AAUW here.

This resource includes:

  • A 2022 update to The Simple Truth regarding the economic climate
  • Supplemental material examining the impact of systemic racism on the gender pay gap
