Why not take a course that is all about YOU and YOUR SUCCESS? FAHS.2800 Career Accelerator with Braven is an innovative new course designed to support your career success, even if you’re still exploring your path.
AND it’s all for FAHSS students!
In this course, you’ll explore your leadership, values and career interests. You’ll create a career project plan. You’ll tell your story through your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and practice interviews. You’ll even solve a company-sponsored challenge using design thinking.
Most importantly, you’ll bond with a small cohort of students AND a leadership coach, who is a professional volunteering to mentor, guide and advise you. Trusted people are the most impactful part of your career development.
This course is mostly online. Three sessions will be in-person; eleven sessions will be on Zoom. The online sessions will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, even though the class block states 3:30 – 6:20 p.m. on Thursdays. Further details will be in the syllabus.
You’ll also connect with other campus resources supporting your career, like the Career & Co-op Center and the Transformative Internships & Engagement (TIE) Hub.
If this doesn’t sound good enough, students who have taken this course at other colleges were 22 percentage points more likely to have at least one internship during college compared to graduates nationally (Braven Impact Report).
Be one of UMass Lowell’s first students to be a part of this pioneering career-connected course.
This course can be used as an open elective or to satisfy the FAHSS career connected experience requirement (entering Fall 2025 and beyond).
