  • Log into Handshake to find internships related to your field of interest. Examine job descriptions to understand what employers are looking for and determine what skills to develop. Update your profile.
  • Meet with your faculty advisor to discuss credit-bearing experiential learning opportunities, including research, Professional co-op, study abroad, internships/practicums, or other relevant opportunities. Use the Career Connected Work & Experiential Learning resource to find your path.
  • Consider the competencies you are developing through your coursework, including team projects and classroom presentations.
  • Identify career-related skills that you have utilized, as well as the ones you need to develop.
  • Seek out additional experiences through job shadowing, joining a club or professional association, finding a mentor, attending industry conferences, and following LinkedIn groups.
