GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is looking for a motivated Engineer/Scientist Intern to join our technical practice in our Hammonton, NJ office. As an Entry-Level Engineer/Scientist Intern, you will work on a wide variety of exciting projects amongst a team of dedicated project managers and scientists. Our close-knit culture here at GZA will allow you to apply your expertise and diversify your skill set by participating in challenging projects. You will be mentored by seasoned professional scientists and engineers, who will in turn look to you to share technical knowledge and ideas. Our success relies on this collaborative environment.

Potential Duties:

  • Perform field tasks and assist with the technical execution of projects.
  • Perform observation of test borings.
  • Perform observation of groundwater sampling.
  • Collect soil and groundwater samples.
  • Create soil boring logs.
  • Create maps and technical graphics using GIS/CADD.
  • Assist with environmental analyses and reports.
  • Perform product recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field is required.
  • Current 40HR OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred*.
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on activities.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and GIS/AutoCAD skills are preferred.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a professional attitude.
  • Ability to perform field tasks and activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Has a reliable means of transportation to/from project sites.

*Note: GZA is willing to provide 40HR OSHA HAZWOPER training, to be completed on intern’s personal time. The potential fieldwork duties listed above require completion of this training.
