The Hispanic-American Institute (www.hainst.org) is a forward-looking nonprofit organization with offices in Boston MA, Albuquerque NM and San Juan PR. We provide a variety of community service and development activities under grants and contracts with the federal and state government, foundations, and corporations. We have a staff of ten employees and various contractors and vendors and operate with an annual budget of about $1.2 million.
The Institute is a lean-management, entrepreneurial organization that provides direct services to vulnerable communities and emerging businesses in Spanish and English.
The Institute’s Boston office focuses on providing training and technical assistance to Hispanic owned and operated businesses and entrepreneurs to help them succeed in their chosen field. We are currently seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) intern with training in public and business administration who can help entrepreneurs seeking government contracts and subcontracts, especially opportunities at the state and municipal level under the Inflation Reduction Act. Our Boston-area based intern should be interested in bid and proposal preparation, and have strong written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish. The intern would work remotely and on-site at our East Boston office. The intern should be a university senior or graduate student. This internship pays $20-30/hour for 8-10 hours per week. Based on performance the position can lead to extended and full time employment.
