Full Stack Developer – AI & Legal Technology

Location: Remote (US-based preferred) | Type: Full-Time | Teams: Law School AI (LSAI) & The English Law Firm (ELF)

About Us

We are building at the intersection of law, education, and artificial intelligence.

Law School AI (LSAI) is a cutting-edge legal education platform that leverages advanced LLMs, RAG pipelines, and personalized learning systems to help law students, professors, and professionals bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The English Law Firm (ELF) is a fast-growing estate planning and business law firm integrating AI-driven workflows, automation, and client platforms to deliver high-quality, affordable, and rapid-turnaround legal services nationwide.

Together, we’re building a next-generation AI + LegalTech ecosystem that transforms how legal knowledge is taught, accessed, and applied — both in the classroom and in practice.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Full Stack Developer with a passion for building scalable, intelligent, and user-friendly platforms. This role will work across both ventures, developing applications that support:

AI-powered education tools (LSAI) such as interactive legal tutors, case analysis dashboards, and automated outline generators.

Workflow automation systems (ELF) such as client intake platforms, document automation portals, and real-time legal analytics dashboards.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving startup environments, is comfortable collaborating with lawyers, engineers, and product managers, and has the technical range to take ideas from prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Development:

Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications with modern front-end frameworks (React/Next.js) and secure, high-performance backends (Node.js, Python/FastAPI, Django).

Architect and optimize databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL) for structured and unstructured data.

AI/ML Integration:

Implement and integrate RAG pipelines, vector databases (Weaviate, Pinecone, FAISS), and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace) into production systems.

Develop workflows that allow attorneys, students, and clients to interact seamlessly with AI-powered tools.

LegalTech Platforms:

Build document automation systems that generate wills, trusts, contracts, and legal memos with attorney review layers.

Create client portals for intake, case tracking, and secure document exchange.

Enable real-time dashboards for attorneys and students to visualize case progress, analytics, or coursework feedback.

DevOps & Security:

Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and role-based access security.

Ensure compliance with privacy, legal, and ethical standards (ABA rules, FERPA, HIPAA where applicable).

Collaboration:

Work closely with attorneys, legal educators, and product managers to translate legal requirements into technical features.

Mentor interns and junior developers contributing to LSAI/ELF systems.

Qualifications

Required:

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.

Experience with React (or Next.js) for front-end and Node.js / FastAPI / Django for back-end.

Solid understanding of databases (SQL & NoSQL).

Experience with cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Hands-on work with AI/LLM APIs, LangChain, or vector databases.

Familiarity with secure, production-grade deployments.

Preferred:

Background in AI/ML engineering, particularly LLM fine-tuning, RAG, or NLP workflows.

Experience building SaaS platforms or client portals.

Familiarity with legal tech, compliance-heavy industries, or ed-tech.

Strong UI/UX sensibility to design intuitive dashboards and tools for non-technical users.

What We Offer

The opportunity to work on two synergistic ventures at the forefront of AI and law.

Direct impact: your code will be used by law students, professors, attorneys, and clients nationwide.

Fast-paced startup environment with autonomy and room to innovate.

Mentorship from experts in law, AI, and business strategy.
