Intelligence Community Scholars Program

Welcome to the University of Massachusetts Lowell Intelligence Community Scholars Program. The North Eastern Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence (NE IC CAE) includes the College of Mount Saint Vincent (NY), Howard University (DC), Northern Essex Community College (MA), University of Massachusetts Lowell (MA), and the University of New Hampshire (NH). We have a partnership with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to meet the nation’s demand for a diverse cadre of professionals to carry out national security priorities and obligations. The link for the ODNI page on the IC CAE program is: https://www.dni.gov/index.php/iccae

Why would I want to become an IC Scholar?

Are you curious about national security issues? Do you want to learn about the most pressing threats to the United States? Have you considered joining the Intelligence community to make a difference? If you answered “yes” to any of this question the IC Scholars program may be for you. As an IC Scholar you will:

  • Receive notification of Intelligence Community internships and jobs
  • Receive intelligence specific resume development training and support
  • Participate in events to learn about and network with intelligence professionals
  • Learn about opportunities to work on faculty research
  • Learn about IC Scholar funding opportunities
  • Apply for field trips to visit the Intelligence Community locations in the Washington DC area

The program is open to students from all UML majors. Security studies is interdisciplinary and the intelligence community needs people that bring a diversity of thought.

The two restrictions on the program are that you must be a United States citizen and have a GPA over 2.5 for undergraduates or over 3.0 for graduate students.
