Executive Team Leader, Target Corp.

>> My name is David Kuchlar [assumed spelling] and I am an Executive Team Leader for the Target Corporation in Denver, Colorado. I guess I can describe my role a little bit. So I supervise three full-time team leaders, which are kind of the equivalent to assistant managers, so I also serve as a leader on duty for the building a few times a week, and so I just kind of am responsible for the daily operations of a Super Target. I am responsible for the leadership development of my three team leaders. So were talking about the strengths and opportunities for growth and how they're working with their team to engage and inspire them to be results driven and engaged in their work, so they enjoy what they do. So it's really cool. Coming from a psychology, sociology, and education background, my focus is the team and people, and so going to work and being able to motivate and inspire my team is really exiting. So that's what I do. I create an environment where people want to come to work. So before starting a target, I was an academic advisor here at the University of Denver, and I was creating experiences to help with the retention of students, and so at Target, the skills that I learned in education are so transferable because I'm creating experiences to keep my team engaged but to also create great experiences for our guests to keep them coming back. So it's kind of like creating programs for students, but they're our shoppers, our guests, and then they come back, and then they spend more money.
