My name is Ryan Latham. I'm with the state of Minnesota with the Department of Human Services and I'm a Human Resources Specialist specifically with Talent Acquisition Team. So part of my job specifically entails I work out of the Saint Peter Regional Treatment Center in Saint Peter helping people who may of been civically committed after committing crimes or being part of Minnesota's sex offender program. Right of the bat there, people who are even in those situations still, they still need to be taken care of. They're still humans just like the rest of us. They still need to have all their basic needs met and everything too. I'm hiring out of that Saint Peter organization. A lot of the people in the same kind of work as I do in particular, will be hiring people all across the state of Minnesota, depending on that. Specifically for our area, we focus a lot on direct care and treatment. Taking people directly, maybe things like Registered Nurses, or CNA's, even things like Security Counselors or Forensics Support Specialists down in Saint Peter. But even things like psychiatrists or behavior analyst. I take a really close look at what would be minimum qualifications for people and kind of match that up to resumes and to see if people fit the bill. So that really does come down to the bare bones right there. We of course are always looking into having a wide diverse environment. Lot of inclusion, people from all backgrounds because as Governor Wallace just said, one Minnesota. We're all there together. We need to have everybody from different backgrounds of life because there's people from different backgrounds of life that need to be taken care of as well. A lot of the places that we like to go in southern Minnesota, we'll stop by the workforce centers, we'll stop at all the colleges, community colleges in the area, maybe even some of the state universities. Minnesota State University Mankato. Gustavus is in my area as well. But even like the workforce center in Mankato, down to community colleges like South Central. So we'll go to a lot of places for picking up talent or different people. But again you never know where that next candidate will be. It is hard to see those employees again, maybe after we get them hired, but I do like to stay in touch and try and make sure that everything is going along. Especially if their on boarding process. Everyone knows starting a new job isn't easy, especially getting enrolled in benefits or other things going on. We want to make sure that everybody is covered in every realm. Even if it might not be my specific job I want to at least point them in the right direction.
