An is a Staffing Manager with Robert Half, one of the largest staffing firms in the country. An’s main role is to find talent for her clients’ position vacancies, sometimes filling 10-20 positions every week. After meeting with clients to discuss their needs, An will then scan resumes, interview applicants, and attend career fairs to increase her candidate pool from which to draw talent.

Yeah, so, my name is Ann Nguyen, and I work with Robert Half Recruiting Team, so I'm a staffing manager. Yeah, so, I'm supposed to find talent for our businesses, so businesses will come to us 'cause they issues filling their positions, anything like that, they just aren't filling them correctly, and then it's my job to find that talent for them. I work with a team so it's really a team-based environment. So my team partner would go out to his businesses, ask them what they're looking for, where their need is, and they're bring that need back to me. And then what I do is I interview individuals looking for positions, look at their resume, look at what they're looking for in terms of pay and positions, and then I match them up. I'm always recruiting. When people apply in for positions, I look at their resume, I ask them, hey, do you need help? How's your job search going? Let me assist you. That's the recruiting aspect of it. We find resumes online, see if you need help with your job search. And then on the coordinating side, once you're registered with us, then I can match you with the jobs that we're working on. So then I look at the job orders, I look at the job positions, see what they're looking for and then look at the candidates pool, and I look at their resumes and then see if there's a match. Per week we probably have on average 10 to 20 job openings that we're currently working on in my office alone in my team. But in my office there's several different teams, and then there's also several different branches, so we're always working on over a hundred job opportunities that we're working on. And then on the recruiting side, we interview at least 20 a week on my team alone, so we look through a lot of resumes and then interview a lot of people.
