Talent Acquisition Administrator, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance

My name is Tiffany Hackett, and I am on the Talent Acquisition team at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. So I am a recruiter, so it is my job to find talent for our open positions, and then I also staff our internship program, so I am the internship program manager. So a lot of times I attend career fairs for the schools that host career fairs. I've set up a table outside at those small universities that don't necessarily have career fairs. I've done Gamma Iota Sigma here at Ball State. I use Handshake, I use Cardinal Career Link, so I use a lot of my resources. We use our applicant tracking system, so anybody that applies, I also use LinkedIn. That's another good way to find candidates. So, and then just word of mouth through like our employees. Like our employees are our best recruiters in the sense that they drive people to our website because they are the ones that are saying oh, it's a great company to work for. So I would say like a great deal of my day is spent with people. Like for me, every single day is completely different. Yesterday, I had about six to seven phone screens for two different openings. I just wanted to jam them all in and then type up my notes up for you can easily compare candidates when you have back to back interviews. Today, I'm off. Tomorrow, I'll be back in the office doing maybe some phone screens and then in and out of meetings and then just going through my open requisitions and seeing what candidates have applied and seeing if they're a good fit for the position or not. So I travel a lot, especially in the fall, so with career fairs. So I pretty much travel central Indiana. The furthest I have been is pretty much I would say Fort Wayne. Next week I am, or the next few weeks, I'm going to Manchester for the first time. And then for the first time, I'm crossing state lines and going over to Illinois to one of their career fairs, so.
